“I will follow you Lord, but…”

Lk 9:57-62 – "I will follow you Lord, but…"

Loose the BUT. I know someone is smiling now and saying I have been trying. Let it go today, and stop saying, I will follow you Lord; but after I learn more; but after I have more knowledge; but… we have more excuses than the law allows. Bury your BUT today, your dead excuses and let go and let God!

Today is your day to stop focusing on what is behind you. Why do you think the windshield of a car is so big, yet the rear view mirror is so small?

Focus on what is ahead of you… Jesus the rear is only a glimpse of the BUT's you left behind. Choose to follow the Lord closely today, and watch the Glory He works within your Heart!

Blessings and Peace to you and remember… KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!!!

“A Life Without Prayer is a Life Without Power!”

"A life without prayer is a life without Power." - Kristin A. Lane

Prayer is our way of communing with God, asking Jesus to come into our daily lives and to come into our situations. We tend to think of prayer when we need something from God. Go to God in prayer now. It does not have to be elaborate, just talk to God. He is your Brother and Friend, treat Him as such and just talk to Him. Jesus already knows your innermost workings, He knows your Heart. Tell Him what is on your mind, what troubles you, but mostly tell Him you Love Him. Make this day your Pentecost, for on the day of Pentecost Jesus told us we would receive Power – the Holy Spirit. Receive your Power today and talk to Jesus… He is waiting.

Happy Birthday Tre'! I love you!

God bless you and remember… KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!

“Who’s the greatest?”

Lk 9:46-48 – "Who's the greatest?"

We live in a world where we hate to lose; it is wrong for us to come in second, third and we laugh at the one who comes in dead last.

Chose to be last today and while waiting I want you to try to serve someone before you ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. It is not about the first to finish the race, but the blessing is in the fact that the race is finished when the last person crosses.

The Last shall be first and the first shall be last, the most downtrodden, oppressed and demoralized will be first and if you do God's Will, in serving them, they shall be ahead of you, so rejoice in the service of the Lord. (Dedicated to the memory of Rev. Bob Wirth, C.Ss.R. We love and miss you)

The Auction…

I am sure many of us have read or heard this, but I think it's a great and continuous reminder of where our priorities need to be focused!

Blessings and Peace,

Evangelist Richard Lane, Qorban Ministries – www.Qorban.net

THE AUCTION

The upstate NY man was rich in almost every way. His estate was worth millions. He owned houses, land, antiques and cattle. But though on the outside he had it all, he was very unhappy on the inside. His wife was growing old, and the couple was childless. He had always wanted a little boy to carry on the family legacy.

Miraculously, his wife became pregnant in her later years, and she gave birth to a little boy. The boy was severely handicapped, but the man loved him with his whole heart. When the boy was five, his mom died. The dad drew closer to his special son. At age 13, the boys's birth defects cost him his life and the father died soon after from a broken heart.

The estate was auctioned before hundreds of bidders. The first item offered was a painting of the the boy. No one bid. They waited like vultures for the riches. Finally, the poor housemaid, who helped raise the boy, offered $5 for the picture and easily took the bid. To every-one's shock, the auctioneer ripped a hand written will from the back of the picture. This is what it said: "To the person who thinks enough of my son to buy this painting, to this person I give my entire estate."

The auction was over. The greedy crowd walked away in shock and dismay.

How many of us have sought after what we thought were true riches only to find out later that our Father was prepared to give us His entire estate if we had only sought after His Son alone?

God Always Hears…

I had to share this with you all. Be a blessing to someone else and share it with others.

My God will hear me. (Micah 7:7)

Friends may be unfaithful, but the Lord will not turn away from the gracious soul; on the contrary, He will hear all its desires. The prophet says, "Keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. A man's enemies are the men of his own house." This is a wretched state of affairs; but even in such a case the Best Friend remains true, and we may tell Him all our grief.

Our wisdom is to look unto the Lord and not to quarrel with men or women. If our loving appeals are disregarded by our relatives, let us wait upon the God of our salvation, for He will hear us-He will hear us all the more because of the unkindness and oppression of others, and we shall soon have reason to cry, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy!"

Because God is the living God, He can hear; because He is a loving God, He will hear; because He is our covenant God, He has bound Him-self to hear us. If we can each one speak of Him as "My God," we may with absolute certainty say, "My God will hear me." Come, then, O bleeding heart, and let thy sorrows tell themselves out to the Lord thy God! I will bow the knee in secret and inwardly whisper, "My God will hear me."

"Roman Catholic Store Manager under fire for Crucifix!"

“It startled me. It seemed so out of place” was the comment of a patron of the new downtown Schnucks Grocery Store in St. Louis, Missouri. While driving to work this morning, my wife and I were listening to commentary KMOX Radio on this issue and then I went online to get the story from St. Louis Today Website.

Basically the person who felt the Crucifix was ‘out of place’, (also was Jewish – I am in no means insinuating that all Jewish brothers and sisters feel this way) went out of their way to write a letter to their local Jewish Newspaper on this issue complaining about what many say is the ‘obvious symbol of not just Christianity, but Roman Catholicism, since the dying Corpus of Christ was placed on a Cross. Obviously people are disapproving of this display of someone’s faith, Culinaria (Store) Manager Tom Collora, Jr., who is a parishioner at the Old Cathedral, located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

"It's bad taste and bad business. Who wants to (shop) where someone else's faith is being pushed down your throat?" were the comments from an Atheist who lives next to the store. Personally, if this Atheist was so loyal to his cause, then he should not be using United States Currency, which displays this Country’s Faith… but this is not the point in my opinion.

What Mr. Collora has done, is answer the call of the New Evangelization, specifically the Mandate of Christ to ‘Go an make disciples’ by sharing our Faith; by sharing the Salvific Message of the Corpus of the Messiah on the Cross, which is not a sign of exclusion, but the opposite; this is the Glorious Sign of Inclusion into the Body (all pun intended) of Christ, who was ‘lifted up’, suffered, died and rose three days later in Triumph over death.

According to Pope Paul VI; the Roman Catholic Church exists so that She may Evangelize, taking the Eternal Message of Salvation to every end of the earth, every Home, Hamlet and Hovel; every Town, City, State, Country and Territory; Our (Roman Catholics) mission is to share the GOOD NEWS of Salvation through Jesus Christ to all mankind… and as Christ told us; “Do not be afraid!”

As one who has given up a secular life to continue to proclaim the Gospel, I applaud Mr. Collora and wish the other 1 Billion Catholics around the World would imitate his example.

"The cross is an ambiguous symbol which can mean one thing to one group and another to a different group," Modras said. "And for Jewish people (a crucifix) can mean, 'You are a Christ killer.'" This statement is perfect example of why we need continued Ecumenical and Inter-Religious dialog within all Communities. We, (Christians and especially Roman Catholics) should NEVER think of our Jewish ‘Brethren’ as a ‘Christ killer’, and if that be the case then that/those person(s) are obviously not properly educated theologically and most importantly are not truly Christians. We, Protestants and especially Roman Catholics, have our roots DEEP within the Jewish culture. The Source and Summit of our (Roman Catholic) belief system is given to us from the ‘stump of Jesse’, handed down through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; our Savior was born of a Beautiful Jewish Virgin, so we (Roman Catholics) ‘should’ NEVER make idiotic comments to our Jewish Brethren who have given us the Roots of our Faith; but yet this is still, especially for Roman Catholics, a ‘Teachable Moment’; a lesson of taking the Message of the Gospel to the entire world is this Mission or Vocation Proper of the Laity. There is no greater sign of Love (in my humble opinion) that seeing the Corpus of my God upon the Cross; being reminded that in His Death… rather Rising again from the dead… I will inherit Eternal Life.

My brothers and sisters, there IS no greater Love the Father has given us than offering up His only Son, for ALL mankind; Protestants, Roman Catholics, our Jewish Brethren, believers and yes even the Atheists and other unbelievers. If the sign of the Corpus ‘startles you’ then it might be a wakeup call for you to try to understand more fully it’s meaning…because when Jesus comes back, it will mean that EVERYTHING above the Earth, on the Earth and even in Hell, will truly know that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! Halleluiah…THANK YOU JESUS!

ברוך ה' אדוני Baruch HaShem Adonai! BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD!

Tom Collora, Jr. – KEEP ON KEEP’ IN ON, my brother, you are BLESSED!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son…”

Jn 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son…"

God loves you and He also loves everyone else in the world. Good people, bad people, believers and unbelievers. God sent His Son for the best of the best and the worst of the worst and no matter where you fall in the mix, Jesus was sent for your time, your situation, today.

Love also requires 'action' on your part. "For God so loved the world that HE GAVE…" Have you given yet today? Have you 'forgiven' yet today? Love requires unconditional forgiveness as well as giving, not just of your resources and time, but giving of yourself to others, to help, teach and to love. First we must ensure we are reconciled to God in terms of forgiving others who might have sinned against us, no matter how hard, but also to forgive ourselves for our past transgressions against others, which often times is the hardest thing to do…forgiving ourselves and telling yourself, no matter what you have done in the past, that you ARE worthy of God's Grace and Mercy, because of God's ACTION of Giving His Son for your forgiveness.

Action is your key today in all that you do; take the action of Forgiving and Giving love, unconditionally to others, without judgment, but outreach! Others will know you are Christian by acting Christ-like.

Put on Christ today and watch others see the New you, and remember to smile… Jesus Loves you!

KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON!

“Catholics…what are you DOING?!?!?”

The phrase has always gone as 'Knowledge is Power', but I (just little ol' me) says 'Ignorance has become Bliss' in some areas of the Catholic Faith. Yes, this is going to be one of my 'Evangelization' rants, so if you don't like it, click it! J

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard "Catholic – Evangelist – now that's an oxymoron!" Yes I would be a very wealthy man right about now, but why, even to Catholics does this seem like an oxymoron? Why are we (Catholics) so afraid of the word 'Evangelization'…., because it sounds like Evangelical or Protestant? Well, my fellow Catholics I have some news for you… 'Protestants do so much MORE for the Faith, with so much less, and we (Roman Catholics) do so much LESS for the Faith with so much more.' Now I am in NO WAY Slamming my Protestant brothers and sisters, I love you guys VERY much, as a matter of fact two of my biggest fans, (aside from my wife and daughter) are my Lutheran Mother and Step-father…so I LOVE my Protestant brethren and have learned so much from them, in preaching, teaching and especially how to share the Word of God.

Let's just face it – WE – Roman Catholics – are IGNORANT when it comes to sharing our faith…let's just keep it real and be honest here. I heard on a morning radio show last week, broadcast to hundreds of thousands of people across the Midwest, a popular Roman Catholic host stating that when they were little (mid teens) they went to a Protestant Bible Camp (hmmm Catholics why don't we have a SUMMER BIBLE CAMP?!?!?), and the kids laughed at this person or thought they were strange because they did not know the books of the bible in order. The person actually said… and I quote "I'm Catholic. We don't read the Bible."

Ignorance is bliss for so many Catholic's and we just keep getting sucked into the same trap which continues in providing a slow painful death for us. St. Jerome once said; "Ignorance of Scripture is Ignorance of Christ", yet we still don't want to pick up the Bible and read it… most of us (Catholics) don't even have one in our homes, let alone carry one each day and everywhere we go! I tell people, 'My Bible is like the slogan of that card company… I NEVER leave home without it!'

The Catechism teaches us (Roman Catholics) that the Eucharist is the 'source and summit of our existence'; it is why we were created, what we live for and what continues to give us strength and nourishment. Reports have said that only two thirds of Catholics really believe in the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and more alarming, only 40% of Priests believe that what they are Consecrating in their hands, is the True Presence of Christ – Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity!

I have been in full time Catholic Ministry for nearly 5 years now and it never ceases to amaze me at the complacency of many Catholics, wanting to remain stuck in 'we used to do it this way', I liked it the old way, when God Himself tells us even from the mouth of His Prophet Isaiah, "Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:19 and unfortunately MILLIONS of us (Catholics) are not PERCEIVING IT! We are often times stuck in 'maintenance mode' of life for our families as well as our Parishes – just Maintaining a way of Life – fulfilling our weekly 'obligation', doing what we 'think' might get us to Heaven; Charitable Works, Committees, Service Projects, etc. and don't get me wrong, all of these are GOOD THINGS…but they are NOT ENOUGH! Most do them, as I said, out of 'obligation' because that is what I am supposed to do to get to Heaven, but now out of the Obligation of Love to God? We serve Him with honor, giving HIM all the Glory in our Works, thus realizing that our service is a Privilege given to us by God Himself.

We (Catholics) must understand that we have been give so much (too much who has been given, much is expected) but yet we do so little with what we have in terms of reaching out and sharing our Faith with others. We must NEVER cease in finding ways to increase our own knowledge, and challenge each other to share the faith, because if we are not sharing the Love, then we are not fulfilling the Missionary Mandate of Jesus Christ! (For those of you who might not know where it is in the Bible; read Matthew's Gospel, Chapter 28, Verse 19)

Catholics let us not loose site of what Christ called us to do and that IS to go and make disciples. Christ calls us to be ACTIVELY seeking, Searching and Spreading His Word… BUT, if we don't KNOW His Word, then how will we be able to share it? B.I.B.L.E. – BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH! It is a great book! Try it…you might like it…OH and one more thing, the Catholic Bible is FULLY LOADED! 73 Books for Ammunition against the Evil One and not just 66! Remember, to whom MORE is given, MORE is required! Never stop learning, never stop loving and most importantly, NEVER stop sharing the Love of Christ!

God bless you and KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON!

“God’s Hedge of Protection is Always With You!”

There have been many days we have cried out unto the Lord, asking Him, "Where are you in my situation?" Often times we do not see Him, and still we refuse to see Him in our lives and in our presence.

The Protection of God is always with His People. The Glory and Favor of God was upon the Children of Israel during the Exodus. He showed His protective power to them as the departed from Pharaoh. They were surrounded by a Cloud by Day and Fire by Night.

This same Saving Power – Saving Grace is still available to you this day, but in MUCH greater proportion! God gave His only Son, for the expiation of sin; Jesus suffered, died and rose again, Destroying and Defeating Death! Jesus told us that He was going to be with the Father, but He sent us an Advocate; the Holy Spirit who will be with us until the end of days! Jesus told us that there will be those that will do the works He did and those who come after Him, will do Greater Works!

For the Anointed and Appointed of God, (Baptized Christians) the Hedge of God's Protection is ALWAYS with you, now and forever more! YOU GOT THE POWER! The Power to Change, the Power to Love, the Power to Heal in Jesus' Name; the Power to affect change in the World! Use it for the Glory of the Father!

Remember, KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON!
